Depending on numbers, we will make some or all of the six one-pot dishes, working in pairs
Part 4 of Vegan Basics 1-5. Explore plant-based core dishes, ingredients and techniques – as many sessions as you fancy!
Jane Easton is an ex-English teacher who ran away to join the vegans. She’s a self-taught cook, food writer and teacher who grew up as an omnivore but has been vegetarian and then vegan for over half her life and spent the last 14 years being the food person for a Bristol-based national vegan charity. She’s cooked it all – global cuisine, street food, raw, wholefood, macrobiotic, clean and dirty – along with vegan versions of the kind of comfort food her northern family used to make!
Jane has taught thousands of people of all dietary persuasions in workshops and cookery demonstrations across the length and breadth of the UK, from Glasgow to Glastonbury Festival, Cambridge to Canterbury and back again. She’ll get you cooking – and tasting – some great food and give you new skills to take back to your home kitchen – along with tips for sourcing quick, nutritious meals from supermarket ingredients and ready-mades.
As well as being an experienced teacher, Jane is also the author of the Viva! Cookbook, co-founder and contributor to Vegan Recipe Club and Viva! 30 Day Vegan, amongst other things. Her latest co-authored publications are a pair of recipe guides published by Viva! – Here Comes Summer and Winter Wonderland
While any or all these classes will give you a head start into the world of contemporary plant-based food, Jane can usually help with special requests – if there is a favourite dish or menu you’d like to make vegan, ask her.
