21st December. Shortest day of the year. No food in the fridge because you’re going away the next day. Or maybe you’re just biding your time before you do the biggest food shop of the year. The big one. With all the trimmings. So the 21st, that awkwardly short day that, from a food perspective, just gets in the way.
Here is where we gracefully step in. Welcome to Winter Solstice at the Bristol Cookhouse. A relaxed evening with food that certainly surpasses that take-away you were considering. All ages are welcome, we’ll keep it early as you need to be at your best for Mr. Claus. Drop in anytime between 5-8pm, enjoy a last pause before you have to interact with all those extended family members whilst pretending you can make Christmas nibbles look as sexy as Nigella.
Adults, we’re cooking you up a rich Beef bourguignon with potatoe gratin and winter greens. Served with a glass of wine for just £15. The vegan/vegetarian option will be a decadent chestnut and mushroom pie.
For the children, we’ll be cooking the ever popular house spaghetti and meatballs. In true Bristol Cookhouse style, Christmas cupcake decorating will be must. All for £7.50.
We will be taking limited numbers of walk-ins on the night if the Christmas Chaos has left you ticket-less.
